Do we have to be out of the house when you are replacing the roof?
No, but the loud noises can give some anxiety to pets. Consider moving them to a basement or outdoors.
What are ice dams?
Ice dams develop from piled snow in a valley that becomes hardened ice with bitter cold weather. Then with warmer weather the snow and ice melt faster creating a pool of water that can rise above the shingle causing a leak. We install ice&water; barrier under shingles in valley, on eves and in trouble areas above and beyond state code or installation requirements.
Why is there discoloring in my roof?
Discoloring is due to algae staining. Our Malarkey Roofing products are warrantied against algae growth for 10 years to lifetime depending on the product line.
What kind of ventilation can I use on my roof?
Box vents, Ridge Vent, Turbine Vents, Cupola or siding gable vents. We can discuss this during the inspection and estimating process.
Can a new roof affect my home insurance?
Yes! Installing a class 3 or class 4 hail resistant shingle can reduce your home insurance up to 25%! Also an old roof risks being dropped from insurance coverage. Ask your sales person to review the insurance discounts.
I got my check from the insurance adjuster for hail damage, now what?
Review the adjuster's worksheet with a professional storm contractor. The insurance has policies to pay less, and contractors must supplement for many line items to get you paid correctly.
Will you work with my insurance company to help me move forward with my roofing job?
Yes, we will create our own estimate and work with your insurance for an agreeable price. We will also meet with them for the adjuster appointment, send pictures during work completion, supplement for needed line items, and close with a certificate of completion and final invoice.
